18 Simplifying T'ai Chi
While Yoga postures are often static, T'ai Chi’s postures flow one into the
other, just as life's changes flow, making it an ideal lifestyle model.
While Yoga is practised to prepare the body to experience a blissful
meditative state, with T'ai Chi, the Qi Gong meditative state is often
practised before movements, or in other words the ideal of T'ai Chi is to bring
the state of enlightened awareness into our physical lives.
Yoga takes you to a place of peace
T'ai Chi brings that place of peace to you
This is a book about T'ai Chi. I practise and teach T'ai Chi - but both T'ai Chi and
Yoga are wonderful disciplines with their own plus points. So if you are in doubt try
both, make your decision, and maybe do both. Whatever the outcome I'm sure it
will be rewarding for you.
